Who is Breast-pumps.com?

Welcome to Breast-Pumps.com, an authorized Medela retailer since 1998 and an authorized Ameda retailer since 2003.  Breast-Pumps.com is owned and operated by me, Maurenne Griese, RNC, BSN, a board certified and licensed registered nurse.  I have been assisting expectant and breastfeeding families since the 1980s and I am also the mother of four breastfed children.  

I own and operate a private lactation support practice from my office in rural northeast Kansas.  I am also privileged to work alongside several fine doctors in our area, including  Dr James Muller, Dr. Steven Cross and Dr. Anthony Maiorana  in Manhattan and Dr David Craft in Junction City.  

I am one of the very few health care professionals in the Midwest who still makes house calls.  I am also the person who processes, packs and ships all orders or delivers your breastfeeding products to your house during a home visit.  I also developed and maintain several health care related websites, including this one!

I am board certified in Obstetric Nursing by the National Certification Corporation and licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Kansas. I have worked in the health care setting for over 20 years and began my career as a registered nurse in 1989.  At that time, I earned a Regular Army commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps.  As a Captain, I was honorably discharged from the Army in 1998 with 9 years of service.  

As a nursing professional, I have published several articles in several peer reviewed journals about breastfeeding and childbirth including the International Journal of Childbirth Education, the American Journal of Maternal Child Nursing and the Journal of Obstetrics, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing.  I have also published many articles on the web relating to pregnancy birth and breastfeeding and served as a contributing editor for Pregnancy and Childbirth at Suite101.com.

As a breastfeeding advocate, I have served on the ProMom Advisory Board providing online breastfeeding assistance free of charge to women around the world. I am a charter member of the Flint Hills Breastfeeding Coalition, a non profit organization started in 1994 that is devoted to protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding in our local community.

I am available for breastfeeding assistance in your home on a fee for service basis.  A consultation can be scheduled with me by contacting me by e-mail or by phone.  My aim is to assist breastfeeding families with reaching their breastfeeding goals. As a licensed health care professional, I am committed to providing you the best quality service available anywhere when it comes to breastfeeding products and support.
