The Harmony Breast Pump uses two-phase pumping technology based on ground-breaking research conducted by Peter Hartmann, an internationally renowned expert in human lactation. He discovered that a breast pump using two-phase cycling closely mimics a baby's natural nursing rhythm — fast, high-frequency sucking that switches abruptly to a slower suck-and-swallow pattern as milk begins to flow. During the stimulation/let-down cycle, the Harmony stimulates the milk ejection reflex. After two minutes, it automatically switches to the milk expression cycle.
